Mine while you browse with CryptoTab

CryptoTab is a browser that give you the capability to mine crypto currencies while you use the internet. That is as simple an explanation as I can give you.
Crypto currency mining is a big business but if you don’t have access to super strong graphic cards or asic miner hardware, changes are that you will not be able to become an overnight millionaire. That is where CryptoTab is looking to assist.
It is a browser that is build on Chromium, meaning that you can pull over your bookmarks from Google’s Chrome browser and install Chrome extensions like you would normally do.
Why CryptoTab?
It basically uses the browser to mine while you work. It uses your CPU to perform this where normal mining software that you install on your desktop or laptop will try and use the GPU if possible. You then earn Satoshis. Whohoo!!!
One Bitcoin is equal to 100 million Satoshis. A Satoshi the smallest unit of Bitcoin currently recorded on the blockchain. You are basically earning cents. If you convert it to USD you are actually earning less than a cent, but anyway.
The CryptoTab Browser goes a step further and provides you with an affiliate link that you can share with family and friends and if they use the browser and start mining, you get a share of their earnings. In turn they also have the opportunity to add people to their mining network and grow the ecosystem and user base.
Will it affect my performance?
I have tested it on my iMac and MacBook Air with the new M1 chip. On the iMac I really didn’t notice a difference in browsing speed or system performance.
On the MacBook Air however I immediately got notified that it is using a lot of battery and saw the battery percentage drop faster that a train down a mineshaft. The bottom of the MacBook also started heating up since the new models do not have a cooling fan built in.
I would not recommend using this browser on ANY laptop due to this. On the iMac I am more casual about it as it has fans and ventilation that reduces the heat being produced.
Will I become an overnight millionaire?
I don’t see how to be honest. It is fun to play with but I really do not see myself spending too much time on the browser. I have recently ditched the Chrome browser for the Apple Safari browser as I felt that Chrome was already using more resources than needed.
The CryptoTab browser is working on mining while you are working in the browser, so it takes me back to the problem I originally had. They do give you the option to set the amount of processing power you would like to assign to the mining process at least. There is also the option to turn it of if you feel that it is slowing down your browser speed.
Personally it is a fun way to experiment with crypto currencies and learn more about it. They do give you the option to link your Bitcoin wallet address and have your earning deposited to it once you reach 0.0001 Bitcoins.
Aside from the basic version they do also offer a CryptoTab Browser Pro version. This version gives you cloud boosting capabilities that allows you to subscribe to a cloud solution that will increase your mining capabilities and effectively earn more. The options available are subscription packages of x2, x5, x10 and x15.
